Attorneys Monica Vigues Pitan of Legal Services of Greater Miami, Inc., and Miriam Harmatz of Florida Legal Services were awarded the Florida Bar Foundation’s 2013 Paul Doyle Children’s Advocacy Award for their successful Children’s Autism Treatment Project. The case has national impact because, although most states mandate that private insurance companies cover ABA, most Medicaid programs do not provide coverage. The award of $5,000 will help the project continue its advocacy for deserving clients in our community.
