Legal Services of Greater Miami hosted its 6th annual “Heart of Giving” Celebration and Judicial Reception, attracting more than 450 prominent legal, business and community leaders including judges, attorneys, executives and elected officials. Guests enjoyed the delectable dishes by Thierrys Catering and Events Design, and were entertained by Vinyl Blvd, the jazz ensemble brainchild of jazz vocalist and violinist Yamit Lemoine. The event also featured a showcase and auction of artwork created by students at Miami’s Design and Architecture Senior High (DASH), a local magnet school.
Tom Healy served as the Master of Ceremonies, and the Honorable Beth Bloom and the Honorable Darrin P. Gayles, United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, were recognized as the recipients of the 2015 Equal Justice Judicial Leadership Awards. Jacques Hart, CEO of Roar Media, the organization’s public relations agency of record, unveiled the new website, logo, and branding it developed for Legal Services as part of its campaign to elevate public awareness and advance the mission of Legal Services.
Legal Services of Greater Miami is a nonprofit organization providing free civil legal services for vulnerable members of the community with nowhere else to turn for help, including women, children, seniors, veterans returning from combat, people with disabilities, low-wage workers and the homeless. The organization provides assistance with problems in the areas of tenants’ rights, home-ownership, health, income maintenance, employment, special education, tax and consumer rights.
