Congratulations to Legal Services Attorney Sean Rowley and his co-counsel Aviva Wernick at Hughes Hubbard who represented a client living in public housing whose spouse died. Unfortunately, he was never added to the lease and the County sought to eject him from the unit as an unlawful occupant. We argued that as a matter of law he was a surviving family member and entitled to remain in the unit. The magistrate agreed.
