Legal Services’ Kaufman Rossin Fellow Helps Increase the Effectiveness of Finance Department

Kaufman Rossin’s Fall 2021 Fellow Kiana Ford gains valuable, practical experience outside of the classroom while providing much-needed support to the Legal Services’ Finance Department. Ms. Ford assists with a wide range of duties including accounts payable, accounts receivable, the annual audit, preparing deposits, reconciling various accounts, as well as with special projects. She receives adequate training and mentorship from the team.

Ms. Ford is currently pursuing Business Management degree with a minor in Finance at Florida International University. She is excited in her new role and shared how much the experience has impacted her.

In Ms. Ford’s own words, “It has given me the opportunity to grow my knowledge and experience in a positive working environment, surrounded by supportive coworkers. This will also be beneficial for me and my future career, being able to obtain the skills and qualities necessary to make an impact not only in my life but as well as in the organization. I look forward to growing with the organization and making an impact.”

The fellowship is funded by Kaufman Rossin, the largest independent accounting firm in Florida and one of the top 100 CPA and advisory firms in the U.S. The fellowship provides socially minded, talented students the opportunity to develop essential skills that prepare them for work after graduation and exposes them to the nonprofit sector. We’re proud to sponsor this program and provide an opportunity for students to get involved in the community and support the important mission of Legal Services of Greater Miami,” said Jose Cuneo, Forensic, Advisory and Valuation Services Principal at Kaufman Rossin.
