GRATITUDE CORNER: Access to Justice Tech Fellows Program

Legal Services is excited to have Srimathi Kannan as an A2J Technology Fellow this summer to assist with important technology initiatives. Legal Services is focused on using technology to better serve our clients and community. Srimathi will be helping us in the development and testing of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) technology to map the needs of our community and identify areas of client need. Additionally, she will be helping with the testing and documentation of advanced data analytics for the statewide online intake application developed by Legal Services.

Ms. Kannan is currently pursuing a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree at UC Davis School of Law.  She is excited in her new role and shares her views on the fellowship experience.  Ms. Kannan remarks, “This has been my best experience to understand law in practice. My area of Interest is Intellectual Property law. It gives me immense happiness just to be a part of the Florida Community Development Legal (FCDL) project as it helps to achieve justice in a smarter way using technology. I think technology and law put together will bring better solutions and am excited to work with Legal Services.

The fellowship is funded by the Access to Justice Tech Fellows Program that is designed to identify and equip the next generation of civil justice leaders to better ensure equitable access to justice for all.
