JOIN THE FLORIDA PRO BONO LAW SCHOOL CHALLENGE
Legal Services is proud to participate in the Florida Pro Bono Law School Challenge for the 5th consecutive year. It runs year-round and has successfully matched almost 1,000 lawyers and law students on cases providing valuable real-life experience to law students looking to practice their newly acquired legal skills.
Legal Services has provided pro bono matters to be placed in the areas of public benefits, housing, consumer and community economic development. Approximately 33 Legal Services’ cases have been placed with students and attorneys as part of the Law School Challenge since the program’s inception. "The Florida Bar Law School Challenge is a rewarding opportunity to provide legal services. I strongly recommend this opportunity to anyone thinking about providing pro bono hours," said Robert Phaneuf, pro bono attorney.
Legal Services is an avid partner of The Florida Bar Foundation that runs the Law School Challenge and is committed to bringing students and attorneys together to provide high quality legal assistance to those who need it most.
“The Florida Bar Foundation is thankful to have strong partnerships with legal aid organizations like Legal Services of Greater Miami, which makes it possible for the Law School Challenge to be successful,” said the Hon. Suzanne Van Wyk, Florida Bar Foundation PresidentH. “From posting pro bono cases online to guiding law students and lawyers through pro bono work, Legal Services is fostering an environment that encourages more pro bono participation.”
